Brothers, best mates, and owners of Secret Spot Hot Tubs.
At the end of each adventure, we always managed to find a hot stream in the bush or on a beach; a secret spot that only a few locals knew about where we would retell the day’s stories and share a drink and a laugh. It was these hot spring discoveries that began the dream of having hot pools in Rotorua.
On a recent adventure deep in the heart of Te Urewera National Park, while canoeing the Whakatane River in torrential rain and gale force winds, we dreamt of soaking in steaming hot pools in Rotorua, enjoying a toasty mulled wine. So we hatched a plan to re-create the secret spot of our youth; a place that we could share with fellow adventurers and visitors to our patch of paradise.
And here we are now, Kiwi-owned, still connecting with nature and friends. We would love to share our hot pools in Rotorua, Secret Spot Hot Tubs, with you – come enjoy a relaxing soak, drinks on demand, and a peaceful forest setting with stream views, all a stone’s throw from Rotorua.
At Secret Spot Hot Tubs we strive to minimize our environmental impact, tell our sustainability story effectively, and recognise that sustainability is an ongoing process made up of many small changes and choices. We actively protect our natural landscape, planting over 3000 native trees and working closely with Pest Solutions to create a safe environment for native flora and fauna. As a Qualmark Gold accredited business, we prioritize low-carbon practices and maintain high-quality facilities, ensuring we have a minimal environmental footprint. We reduce waste by using upcycled materials and use energy-saving LED lighting throughout the site. We were an Environmental Award finalist in the Rotorua Business Awards and are part of the RefillNZ initiative to reduce single-use plastic bottles by providing a water refill station for forest users. As a proud member of the Rotorua Sustainable Charter, we align ourselves with their outlined goals, collaborating with local businesses to create a sustainable future. We are also members of the Tourism Sustainability Commitment, where we make measurable progress toward our sustainability plan, embedding sustainability into our systems, processes and plans. Nature is not just a place we visit, it’s part of who we are, and we’re keen to preserve it for generations to come.
